The next assignment is to create a poster that reflects the brand that I would associate with CIT Radio.
Before I started the research, I wanted to find a grid that I would use for the poster in Photoshop.
Here is what I settled on:
It's quite basic but it will help me align the elements of the poster to my liking.
I am happy with the brand that I portrayed in my moodboard and logo. However I want to be able to connect them together better. I am going to do this by making sure some elements don't overshadow others - I want a fine balance between everything!
I tried out a few layout sketches in my layout pad to test out how I would position everything:
I felt the main logo looked better a bit sideways as it looked out of place standing up straight, as the rest of the imagery is also slanted.
My next job was to put in the tagline:
I decided that a ribbon over the logo looked better than the tagline to the side.

Deciding on the actual tagline was next. I wrote down ideas on a piece a paper:
I decided "The voice of CIT" was the most simple one and easiest to remember. Also since the radio station is not just about either playing music or speaking, it's a more general tagline that captures all aspects of the radio.
So I added in the tagline along with blue inverted quotes onto the ribbon:

The next thing to do was to do the text explaining the brand of the Radio Station that I wanted to portray. I first wrote it on paper as well as the tagline before putting it into Photoshop. I changed it slightly on Photoshop as I preferred the layout and wording a slightly different way:
Then I added it to fill the last empty sector, and wrap around the web logo using the pen tool.

I decided not to go with this layout as there is no emphasis on the logo, which I want to be the main element.
This one was a good layout initially but I thought more about them and it seemed very crowded.
Then I came up with one more and was very satisfied with the result!
The logo is clearly the main subject and everything else in in perfect balance with each other. The idea came from the image sectors I had in the moodboard.
With this layout in mind, I went to Photoshop to replicate it there:
As you can see, I'm sticking with the red, blue and white colour scheme.
Next I decided to add in the imagery. I decided to use the exact imagery I had on the moodboard as I felt they summed up the station well:

Next, I added in my main logo and my web logo:
I made the main logo the most focal part of the poster as I wanted it to stand out. The web logo was less important so I made it smaller and in the corner.

And finally the branding poster was complete! :)
